For something really interesting with mapping software check out "google street view". It's only currently for the US maps as it was deemed a security risk in Canada. I think that's resolved now though. You're right about GPS though. Mine has a plug in for an add-on traffic antenna.
Language. I don't mind the smileys so much. What really bugs me is when someone writes "LOL" in absolute silence or "ROFL" without getting out of their chair. ;)
