What still gets me is that the rotation of the earth is slowing and the length of a day increases by 0.0015 to 0.0020 seconds per day per century.
If I had "invented time" or rather, if I were deciding how long a second was, that would drive me nuts. :P ;)
Actually, what's truly amazing is that we even know this...
